Prerequisite: MSE 508. Artificial Intelligence/Expert Systems (AI/
ES) technologies and their applications to Computer-Aided Design
(CAD), manufacturing (CAM), and Engineering (CAE). Examples
of AI/ES applications in industry. Tools and methods for capturing
expertise and knowledge and for developing an Expert System.
Homework and project assignments using Expert System Shells
and development tools. Term project
