Anti-homophobic pedagogy:
pedagogy that is not overtly homophobic
teaching practices, theories, curricula, and
dispositions that do not assume or appear to assume that all students
and teachers are heterosexual, and that do not assume or appear to
assume that the world outside of the classroom is exclusively
heterosexual
pedagogy that challenges homophobia
Anti-transphobic
pedagogy:
pedagogy that is not overtly transphobic
teaching practices, theories, curricula, and
dispositions that do not assume or appear to assume that all students
and teachers identify as male or female or inhabit gender roles that
fit neatly into conventional understandings of male or female, and that
do not assume or appear to assume that the world outside of the
classroom is populated by people who are seen or see themselves or live
their lives as only "male" or "female"
pedagogy that questions binary gender divisions and challenges
transphobia
