The Graduate Scholars of English Association and the Department of English
at Arizona State University will sponsor the Southwest Graduate
Literature Symposium at ASU in Tempe, AZ, 8-9 March 1996. The conference
is entitled "Establishing Identities: Cultural, National, Sexual" and will
focus upon the motivations, construction and problems of the desire for
location and identity as found in literary texts. One page proposals of
papers which address any aspect of this topic may be submitted by
November 1 1995 to:
