Subjects of Sex/Gender/Desire


Kent State University, Salem Campus is holding its Eighth Annual Women's Conference on April 10-12, 1996. The topic is "Subjects of Sex/Gender/Desire".

We invite one-page propoals (250 Words) dealing with how the categories of sex, gender and desire affect the way that we create our identities and/or how these categories themselves shape our identities. We welcome proposals from teachers, creative writers and performers, theorists, students, administrators, and other people with interests in these issues. The program committee seeks balance in the range of topics, the level of expertise, and theprofessional and geographic distribution of the program presenters. We encourage traditional as well as innovative/experimental topics and approaches.

To submit proposals of inidividual papers or panels, provide the following information: Name, Address, Telephone Number, Fax Number, E-mail Address, Type of Session (paper, demonstration, workshop, performance, colloquium), length of session, Title of proposal, Audiovisual Needs, Abstract. If submitting a proposal for a panel, please include the names and affiliations of all panelists.

Proposals must be postmarked by December 1, 1995.
