Highlights 2001-2002    

Homecoming
Emerging Leaders were involved in several Homecoming activities this year including, banner creation and "Yell like Hell" contest. Emerging Leaders also participated by judging the Matador Décor competition.

Web Page
The Emerging Leaders launched a new web page on August 1, 2001 (http://www.csun.edu/el). The web pages features information on the program and activities planned during the year.

Retreat: Water World
This year Emerging Leaders retreat was held at Castaic Lake. The CSUN Aquatics Centers coordinated teambuilding, collaborations and communication activities utilizing kayaks, canoes and sailboats. Students enrolled in Leisure Studies 202 coordinated and facilitated activities on the land.

SDSU Leadership Conference
Four Emerging Leaders attended the SDSU Leadership Conference. This year's conference, Leadership: Brining it all Together, helped students explore leadership elements such as effective communication, collaboration, multiculturalism and to develop civic responsibility through the use of ethics, values clarification and spirituality.

Simon Wisenthal Museum of Tolerance
An experience in prejudice and intolerance.
