What is the Emerging Leaders Program?
The Emerging Leaders (EL) program
began in 1987 as a student leadership-training program. Graduating
over 1000 student leaders since its start, the program has
grown extensively and continues to facilitate a wide array
of workshops, seminars and retreats, while still maintaining
a fun and challenging atmosphere for future leaders. The main
purpose of the program is enabling students to become actively
involved at California State University Northridge while better
preparing them to assume student leadership positions on campus
(i.e. Associated Students, Inc., University Student Union,
Clubs and Organizations, Orientation programs, community service,
etc.) and through out their lives.
Emerging Leaders meets every Wednesday from 2:00 - 4:00 in
the Thousand Oaks room of the University Student Union --
Located above the Associated Students offices (Mercantile
Courtyard Area) across the hall from the USU computer lab
and United Campus Ministries offices.
