Student Outreach and Recruitment Services is currently looking for bright, dynamic current CSUN students to fill the following positions. If you are interested please download our Department Student Assistant application, fill it out and return it to our main desk in Bayramian Hall, Room 190.
Position: ETS Academic Tutor
Salary: $9 hour
Days/Hours: Monday - Friday, 15 hrs. per week
Assignment Date: As Soon as Possible
Provide tutoring in areas of specific academic need (i.e. English, math, and other core subject areas) for middle school and/or high school students participating in the Educational Talent Search program. Educational Talent Search is federally funded TRiO program that seeks to increase the number of first generation and low-income students that successfully enroll in post secondary institutions.

Position: Outreach Internship Program Student Assistant
Salary: $9.00
Days/Hours: Two full days during the school week. A minimum of 15 to 20 hours per week.
Assignment Date: As Soon as Possible
Work in local high schools or community colleges. Provide higher education and financial aid awareness to students in individual and group settings. Motivate students to go to college. Provide college awareness presentations in classrooms. Act as student liaison between schools and California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Assist college advisors and recruiters with outreach and recruitment services. Follow-up with applicants to CSUN. Inters will have weekly visits during school hours. Occasional evening and weekend activities. All majors encouraged to apply. Attend bi-monthly staff meetings. Students will be responsible for mid-year and end of the year data.
Good communication skills and the ability to work independently. Must have reliable transportation. Ability to work in diverse environment. Must have driver's license and auto insurance. Must be at least a sophomore in good academic standing.
