Speakers will cover topics that range from mainstream American faiths to Zen and witchcraft, said organizers Jeffrey Utter, vice president of the Valley Interfaith Council, and Allyn Axelton, director of the United Campus Ministry at CSUN.
"The theme of the event will be 'Cultures and Religions: Seeds of Coexistence," Axelton said. "It will be an opportunity for people to learn about the great religious diversity within our community."
Workshop topics already scheduled for the day include "Can Same-Sex Unions Receive Religious Blessing?"; "What Evangelical Protestants Believe;" "The Truth About Witchcraft: An Introduction to the Modern Resurgence of an Ancient Religion;" "How Open Can I Be?"; "Protecting Religious Freedom in America;" and "Grassroots Interfaith Dialogue: An Approach to Community Healing and Peace Making."
People interested in participating or proposing topics for workshops can call Utter at (818) 718-6460 or Axelton at (818) 677-5814.
