Krasilovsky's book is a frank discussion of how camerawomen have broken into a traditionally male dominated field.
Among the women she talks to are Brianne Murphy, the first woman director of photography in the Hollywood union and an Academy Award and Emmy Award-winning cinematographer; Nancy Schreiber, an Emmy Award-winning director of photography who shot "Visions of Light: The Art of Cinematography," and several music specials with Bruce Springstein, Sting and Van Morrison; and Kristin Glover, who worked on the film "Star Trek VI, The Undiscovered Country," and such television shows as "Taxi" and "Knot's Landing."
The book signing at Samuel French, 19963 Ventura Blvd., will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Krasilovsky will sign books beginning at 7:30 p.m. on July 9 at Borders bookstore, 3305 La Cienega St. in West Los Angeles, and travel to New Mexico and Washington D.C. for book signings in July.
