"By closing transfer admissions at this point, we can
accommodate our new and continuing students with high-quality
instruction and adequate course offerings in our undergraduate
programs within our budget limits," Wilson said.
Potential transfer students should submit their applications for
admission as soon as possible, according to CSUN's registrar and
director of admissions Lorraine Newlon.
"Applications that reach the campus after the closure will be
automatically processed for the spring 1998 semester," she said.
The regular filing period for spring 1998 begins on August 1.
Questions about admissions should be directed to CSUN's Office of
Admission and Records at (818) 677-3700 or to the Office of
Outreach and Recruitment at (818) 677-2967.
Last fall, CSUN enrolled 27,189 students, an increase of 8.7
percent from the previous year
