CSUN to Host Twilight Garden Party
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., July 22, 2003) - The public is invited to spend an evening in Cal State Northridge's Botanic Garden, sampling fine wines, gourmet beers and coffees and enjoy soothing jazz on Saturday, Aug. 23.
The College of Science and Mathematics' third annual Twilight Garden Party will feature jazz performances, wine, beer and coffee tasting, refreshments, art displays and informal garden talks by docents.
The party will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. in CSUN's Botanic Garden near the center of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.
CSUN's Botanic Garden serves twin purposes as both a vital academic and unique community resource.
The two-acre garden and its four greenhouses, where rare and unusual plants are grown, are a living laboratory for science courses, and students from throughout the university are encouraged to incorporate its landscapes in their studies.
Community use of the Botanic Gardens ranges from special events such as weddings and garden club meetings to short garden courses and educational displays. More casual visitors enjoy picnics in the area and gather gardening ideas.
Tickets for the garden party are $20 per person or $35 for two if purchased before Aug. 6, and $25 per person or $45 for two people after Aug. 6.
To purchase tickets or for more information call (818) 677-3496.
