Parents, Volunteers Bring Out the Mops
As New Valley Charter School Prepares to Open
What:
Dozens of parents and volunteers are bringing out brooms, mops and paint brushes as they clean up the site of the San Fernando Valley's newest elementary school, CHIME Charter School.
The charter school is expected to be a national model of inclusive education, serving both disabled and non-disabled children, as well as being a laboratory for preparing teachers and other educators from Cal State Northridge. The school is slated to open Aug. 31, initially serving children in kindergarten through third grade.
When: Beginning at 7 a.m. and lasting through the afternoon, Saturday, Aug. 11
