The "Communication Is Connection: Enhancing Multicultural Communication" workshop will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Business Auditorium 101 on the west side of the campus near Etiwanda Avenue and Plummer Street.
Ruth Lindeck Forman, a CSUN alumnus, will discuss positive communication skills and principles taken from her book, Communication is Connection on how to connect and better communicate with students and colleagues regardless of race, creed or culture.
Affordable fees and continuing education units are offered for Marriage Family Child Counselors, Licensed Clinical Social Workers and educators.
Forman's workshop is one of a series of workshops the university's Centers in Educational Psychology and Counseling are offering this spring to help mental health professionals keep abreast of changes and information in their field.
The series is approved by the California Association of Counseling and Development, the California Psychological Association Accrediting Agency and the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
It is designed to provide quality continuing education and training to licensed counselors, teachers, school psychologists, interns and other mental health professionals.
