Helios Dance Theatre at CSUN on Mother's Day

Cal State Northridge is offering an alternative with ballet performances by the all-woman modern dance troupe, Helios Dance Theatre, in the CSUN Performing Arts Theatre at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 9.

Tickets are $15 for general admission, $12 for seniors and $10 for students. Tickets are available through the CSUN ticket office at (818) 677-2488 or TicketMaster at (213) 480-3232.

Artistic director Laura Gorenstein Miller founded the explosive six-woman dance group in 1992 with the intent of exploring what is uniquely feminine and recognizing ways in which women coincide with, or apart from, society's stringent gender codes.

Helios will continue its exploration of contemporary women's issues during this special Mother's Day program.

Parking for the Performing Arts Center is available for $3 in the University Lot C on Plummer Street and Zelzah Avenue, one-half mile north of Nordhoff Street.
