Workshop to Examine the Use of Dialogue in Therapy

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Cal State Northridge is offering a workshop for mental health professionals on how to use dialogue in therapy on Saturday, March 6.

"Brief Therapy in Depth: Using Voice Dialogue and the Psychology of Selves in Practice" will take place 1 to 5 p.m. in room 1202 of the Business Administration and Economics Building on the west side of the campus near Etiwanda Avenue and Plummer Street.

Elaine Rosenson will use didactic presentations, case examples, demonstrations and group discussions to give clinicians a clear understanding of the theory and practice of voice dialogue and the psychology of selves and how to incorporate it into their theoretical orientations.

Her workshop is one of a series of workshops the university's Centers in Educational Psychology and Counseling are offering this spring to help mental health professionals keep abreast of changes and new information in their field.

The series is approved by the California Association of Counseling and Development, the California Psychological Association Accrediting Agency and the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

It is designed to provide quality continuing education and training to licensed counselors, teachers, school psychologists, interns and other mental health professionals.

The workshop fees vary. To register or for more information, call Diana Castle or Heidi Kwok at (818) 677-2549.
