CSUN Workshop to Examine the Nuances of Child Therapy

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Cal State Northridge is offering a workshop for mental health professionals on effectively treating children and adolescents on Sunday, March 7.

"Clinician's Workshop in Child Therapy" will take place 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Business Auditorium 101 on the west side of the campus near Etiwanda Avenue and Plummer Street.

Robin Scott Walker will discuss such topics as using a developmental prospective, how and when to deal with parents, structuring the therapeutic hour, special needs for teens, art therapy techniques, and how to equip your office for less than $150.

Walker's workshop is one of a series of workshops the university's Centers in Educational Psychology and Counseling are offering this spring to help mental health professionals keep abreast of changes and new information in their field.

The series is approved by the California Association of Counseling and Development, the California Psychological Association Accrediting Agency and the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

It is designed to provide quality continuing education and training to licensed counselors, teachers, school psychologists, interns and other mental health professionals.
