The San Fernando Valley Economic Research Center, located in CSUN's College of Business Administration and Economics, created the website to provide a detailed look of the Valley's economy as released in its recent study, Report of Findings on the San Fernando Valley Economy.
The report includes an examination of economic trends in the Valley as well as student reports on specific industries, social statistics and government.
The website is located at http://econ.csun.edu/sfvalley. Visitors to the website can also browse in several student projects including "City Government Spending in the San Fernando Valley," "Tourism," "Health Care Real Estate" and "Building Permits."
The website was designed by student Flavio Martinez, a recent CSUN graduate majoring in economics.
"This website makes the work we are doing more accessible to the community," said Dr. Shirley Svorny, director of the San Fernando Valley Economic Research Center and CSUN economics professor.
The center's studies encompass the Valley portion of Los Angeles, Universal City, Burbank, Calabasas, Glendale, Hidden Hills and San Fernando.
For more information or a copy of the report, call Tammy Glenn at (818) 677-3621.
