Waters' lecture, "Crack Cocaine: CIA and the Contras," will begin at 11 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center of the University Student Union near the center of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.
She will give a short presentation followed by a question and answer period.
Waters' appearance is sponsored by CSUN's Pan African Studies Department as part of its annual Black History Month celebration.
Newspapers late last year raised questions about a possible CIA role in supporting the sale of crack cocaine in Los Angeles' inner city in the 1980s as a way of supporting the Contra movement in Nicaragua. The Central Intelligence Agency has denied a connection, and has launched its own investigation of the matter.
