The program will feature lectures on anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in the female athlete, addressing such topics as the effect of estrogen on the ACL and rehabilitation techniques.
Additionally, the seminar will offer presentations on other subjects like strength training techniques, pool therapy, treatment for upper extremity injuries, and the effectiveness of nutritional supplements and popular exercise products. Attendees will get a chance to participate in hands-on workshops.
The program regularly draws an audience of physical therapists, athletic trainers, team physicians and other health professionals. Students can earn course credit by attending the seminar, which is approved for 0.7 units of NATA Continuing Education.
Seminar fees are $75 for professionals and $35 for students. A complimentary luncheon will be provided by the exhibitors.
Pre-registration fees are due by March 24, but registration will be accepted at the door based on space availability. Registration is from 7:30 to 8 a.m. on April 5.
The course location is in the University Student Union at 18111 Nordhoff Street in Northridge. Parking is available in Lot C at Plummer Street and Zelzah Avenue for a fee of $1.75.
