CSUN Hosts Symposium on New TV Rating System

Cal State Northridge will host a symposium on the strengths and weakness of the new television rating system on Tuesday, March 4.

"The Television Rating System: Sense of Censorship," will take place at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center of the University Student Union on the east side of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.

Organizers hope to take a honest look at the new ratings system, which has recently come under fire from critics who say it is not tough enough.

Based on the movie rating system, the new television system is supposed to offer viewers guidelines about potentially objectionable content.
