Grant Quilt Project at CSUN

Students from Grant High School will unveil a quilt later this month created through the Van Nuys Cluster Art Program in collaboration with the art department at California State University, Northridge.

The project was started by CSUN graduate student, Debbie Joseph, and Grant High School art teacher, Eilene Motzkin, to encourage the students to work together and expose them to art in the university arena.

Pieces of the quilt were screen-printed by the students on a recent field trip to the university. The panels are designed to express the students' individuality while complementing the overall motif.

The unveiling will be held on Jan. 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Grant High School in Van Nuys. CSUN's North Gallery will exhibit the project daily, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. from Jan. 24 through Feb. 6. For more information contact the CSUN North Gallery at (818) 677-2226.
