KCSN Welcomes Bonnie Grice

Well-known Los Angeles radio personality Bonnie Grice has joined the airwaves at KCSN-FM (88.5), the public radio station at California State University, Northridge.

Grice's show of classical music airs from 3 to 6 p.m.

"Bonnie is a welcome addition to KCSN's staff," said RenŽ Engel, the station's general manager. "We gain a proven professional in L.A. radio whose programming skill will fit right in with our staff. We hope everyone who hasn't yet tuned to 88.5 will discover the exceptional music we present on KCSN."

Grice comes from KKGO-FM, Los Angeles's only commercial classical music station. Prior to that she was at KUSC-FM, where she hosted both the morning and afternoon drive-time shows during her seven-year tenure.

In addition to her show at KCSN, Grice is also at work with Minnesota Public Radio to recreate the highly successful CD review show "Counterpoint," one of the top-rated classical music programs in the Los Angeles area where it was heard for more than three seasons. In its new guise, the program will be nationally syndicated and co-hosted by Grice and MPR personality Eric Friesen.

Grice is also an author and librettist. In 1993, the two-act chamber opera "Mrs. Dalloway," for which Grice wrote the libretto based on the novel by Virginia Woolf, had its critically-acclaimed premiere by Lyric Opera Cleveland. In 1994, Grice wrote the book From Z to A-A Classical Lover's Alternative, a guide to composers from Zappa to John Adams.
