Mariachi Cobre Pays Tribute To Mexican Music

Internationally recognized Mariachi Cobre, the resident mariachi band at EPCOT center's Mexico Pavilion at Walt Disney World, will perform at Cal State Northridge's Performing Arts Center in April.

Mariachi Cobre will sing a tribute to "Los grandes de la musica Mexicana (The great ones of Mexican music)," featuring songs by Jorge Negrete, Jose Alfredo Jimenez, Lola Beltran and more.

Cobre has performed with such music stars as Vicki Carr, Linda Ronstadt, Julio Iglesias and Carlos Santana. Cobre has also performed with the Milwaukee and Guadalajara philharmonic and the Tucson orchestras. Cobre helped to plant the seed for the Tucson International Mariachi Conference, now in it's 15th year.

The band will perform on April 12 at 8 p.m. and April13 at 5 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at CSUN's Associated Students Ticket Office. The prices are $25 for general admission, $20 for faculty and staff and $15 for senior citizens, students and children. General admission tickets are also available at all Ticket Master Outlets.
