Ray Bradbury to Speak at Conference on
Technology and Disabilities

Science-fiction author, Ray Bradbury, will deliver the keynote address on March 19, at the Twelfth Annual International Conference, "Technology and Persons with Disabilities," sponsored by Cal State Northridge.

The conference features new technologies as they relate to the disabilities of people from all age groups and educational backgrounds.

The 1996 conference drew more than 2,600 people and featured more than 200 speaking sessions and 130 exhibitors.

"Participants came from almost every state in the Union, as well as 20 foreign countries" said Harry J. Murphy, Founder and Director of the Center on Disabilities at CSUN.

The conference will run March 18-22 at the Los Angeles Marriott and Los Angeles Airport Hilton Hotels.

Bradbury, who has a vision disability that prohibits him from driving, will be available to autograph his works which may either be purchased at the conference or brought in by registered participants.

He has received numerous awards for writing, including the World Fantasy Award for lifetime achievement, and he designed the Spaceship Earth exhibition at Epcot Center in Florida.
