CSUN Kindergarten Accepting Applications

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., April 23, 2003) - Cal State Northridge's nationally acclaimed kindergarten program is accepting applications for the fall 2003 semester.

The kindergarten is part of CSUN's Child and Family Studies Center's Laboratory School. Located on the Northridge campus, it offers cutting-edge developmentally and academically appropriate inclusive curriculum and is dedicated to fostering a partnership with the child's family.

"We're a little known resource available to the community that offers high quality programs for children," said Barbara J. Hill, director of the Lab School.

The kindergarten offers extended hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to accommodate working parents and offers nutritious lunches and snacks prepared by dietetic interns from the university. Actual kindergarten hours are from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The Lab School is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs for maintaining the highest standards in early childhood education and by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences as a high quality instruction site.

The school also serves as a learning environment for CSUN students interested in working with children.

For an application or more information, call the Lab School at (818) 677-3131 or visit its Web site http://hhd.csun.edu/cfsc.
