Alfred Hitchcock Makes an Appearance
at CSUN's Cinematheque

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., May 29, 2003) = The artfully crafted, intriguing world of Alfred Hitchcock is part of this summer's Cinematheque series at Cal State Northridge.

The public is invited to join faculty and students each week as they screen some of Hitchcock's most memorable films and television classics, from The Man Who Knew Too Much and Rear Window to Psycho and television's Alfred Hitchcock Presents.

The free screenings take place every Monday and Wednesday from 5 to 11 p.m. in the Alan and Elaine Armer Theatre in CSUN's Manzanita Hall, located at the southwest corner of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.

The Cinematheque's "The Cinema of Alfred Hitchcock" series kicks off Wednesday, June 4, with screenings of the 1934 and 1956 versions of The Man Who Knew Too Much. The series concludes Monday, July 7, with screenings of Torn Curtain and Frenzy.>

The public is invited to come to the screenings early and enjoy the Cinematheque Gallery of Film Poster Art, the only permanent museum collection in the United States of classic motion picture posters.

The only venue of its kind in the San Fernando Valley, the Cinematheque, offered by CSUN's Department of Cinema and Television Arts, presents thematically-designed retrospectives of classic films, as well as aesthetically significant contemporary releases in conjunction with the appearance of featured guest artists for lectures and panel discussions. ###
