CSUN Conference to Give Graduating
Seniors a Head Start on Grad School

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Feb. 19, 2003) ­ College students can get a jumpstart on graduate school at a special conference at Cal State Northridge on Saturday, March 8.

The fifth annual "Advancement to Graduate Education Conference: Consider the Possibilities" will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the University Student Union on the east side of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.

The dayıs keynote speaker will be Henry Gee, dean of Student Affairs at Santa Ana College.

"Through our partnerships with various on-and off-campus constituents, the fifth annual AGE conference should sustain CSUNıs name as being a seamless capstone experience critical to the pedagogy of our institution," said Cedric Hackett, the coordinator for the Advancement to Graduate Education Conference.

Among the topics to be discussed are the graduate admissions process, financing a graduate education, medical school admissions, law school preparation and how to write a winning purpose statement.

There will be representatives from several universities, including six of the University of California campuses, USC, Loyola Marymount, Chapman University, Arizona State University and Pepperdine University.

Tickets to the free conference are available at the Associated Students Ticket Office in the student union from Monday, Feb. 24 to Friday, March 7.
