CSUN Opens Its Doors to New Students, Their Families
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., March 27, 2002) - Incoming students and their families can get a taste of what college life will be like this fall at Cal State Northridge's annual Open House on Saturday, April 6.
Freshmen and new transfer students will get a chance to tour the campus, meet with faculty, administrators and other university staff and talk to current students about what it is like to go to school at CSUN.
"Through this experience, students and their families will have the opportunity to ask questions about campus life and learn the necessary techniques to successfully transition to CSUN this fall," said Fidel Ramirez, associate director of student outreach and recruitment. "This is the start of their academic journey toward college graduation."
The open house is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on the Oviatt Library lawn in the center of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.
The day will include visits to classrooms, laboratories, residence halls and the art gallery. A variety of student organizations and clubs will be present with information about student services available on campus. There will also be plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
