CSUN Professors to Provide Art-Filled Day for Victims
Of Coldwater Canyon Elementary Vandalism

What:

Cal State Northridge's art faculty hope to provide a colorful boost to the spirits of a group of fifth graders from Coldwater Canyon Elementary School, whose classrooms were torched by vandals last month.

Two classrooms at the school were set on fire; five other classrooms, the cafeteria and auditorium were vandalized in the Feb. 24 incident. School officials estimated the damage to the school at about $50,000.

The CSUN professors have planned a fun-filled day of activities ‹ from tours of the university's art galleries to crafts and animation and drawing classes. The university is paying for the students' lunch and transportation
