New Campus Information Center Links
CSUN Students to the World Wide Web and More
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., March 9, 2001) - The completion of Cal State Northridge's new "Campus Link Information Center" gives students one more place where they can access the Internet on campus.
Located in the Matador Lounge in the University Student Union, the center features six high-speed Internet computer terminals, newspaper racks, TV monitors and VCRs for campus programming, and a direct phone link to participating services.
"The Student Union is continuously making strides to better meet the needs of students," said Yolanda Mallard-Mike, the USU's commercial services manager. "The system is designed to make student life more convenient. Today it seems like every student uses the Internet, whether it is to send a quick 'hello' or download information for a research paper."
Students are taking full advantage of the services.
"The terminals are generally always occupied," Mallard-Mike said. "I think students appreciate the fact that they can utilize the telephones to call CSUN departments or easily access our displayed community business services,"
The center is open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Campus Link was developed with the University of California, Irvine, in 1993 with the goal of providing university students with access to the best services and most valuable information.
