CSUN Conference Keeps it Real for Teens About Sex
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., April 30, 2001) - Cal State Northridge¹s Teen Mentor Program, in collaboration with the Adolescent Abstinence Based Learning & Education Project, is hosting a conference in Inglewood on sex and abstinence on Saturday, May 5.
The second annual "Keepin¹ it Real" conference will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Darby Park, 3400 W. Arbor Vitae, Inglewood. It is free and open to the public.
There will be a panel discussion and break out sessions for young people and adults about sex, teen relationships and marriage, media, parent/child communication and sexual myths. Topics will focus on parents helping children with homework, strategies for childrearing and peer pressure.
Entertainment will include a hip-hop show, music, face painting, balloon animals, magic and games.
There also will be booths with information about college, financial aid, health insurance and local youth-serving agencies.
