CSUN Event to Celebrate Faiths of the World
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., April 30, 2001) - Cal State Northridge¹s Interfaith Council joins the San Fernando Valley Interfaith Council in hosting a "World Day of Prayer" on Thursday, May 3.
Organizers hope to foster "Peace and Understanding Between Faiths" by bringing Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism and the Muslim faith together on the front lawn of CSUN¹s Oviatt Library from noon to 6 p.m. as part of the National Day of Prayer.
The event will begin with a rock Œn¹ roll service followed by a welcome address from CSUN President Jolene Koester. In addition, representatives from churches and organizations throughout the San Fernando Valley will speak. The event will conclude with a performance by the San Fernando Valley Interfaith Choir.
Information will be available from booths set up by approximately 20 local churches throughout the event.
CSUN sign language interpreters will be on hand during the service.
