Record Number of Students, Parents to Attend Orientation

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., March 29, 2001) - More than 5,000 students and parents will attend freshman orientation day at California State University, Northridge on Saturday, March 31. This is the largest number of such visitors confirmed for this annual event.

Designed for incoming freshmen and transfer students and their parents, the 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. schedule of activities will include visits to classrooms, residence halls, the library and bookstore. Faculty and staff members will be available to answer questions and provide information about majors, individual classes and other campus programs.

The potential CSUN students and parents will be greeted by Jolene Koester, university president; Dr. Terry Piper, vice president for student affairs and Ludim Seja De Manzano, director of student outreach and recruitment services.
