Workshop on How to Form Leaderless
Support Groups Offered at CSUN

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., March 28, 2000) - A workshop on how to create leaderless groups as part of a clinical practice will be offered by Cal State Northridge's Centers in Educational Psychology April 7 to 9.

This 15-hour workshop will take place in the university's Education Building Room 1214 on the west side of campus near Etiwanda Avenue and Plummer Street.

Workshop hours are from 6 to 10 p.m. on April 7, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on April 8 and 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 9.

Clinical psychologist Steve Wolf will present "The Village Circle Project: Forming Leaderless Groups as an Adjunct to Clinical Practice." Wolf will discuss the historical context for this new modality, the practical advantages of creating leaderless groups, how to create groups from known clients' resources, criteria for selecting participants, the five inevitable crises and pitfalls that occur in every leaderless group process and the specific methodology on how to address the crises.

Affordable fees and continuing education units are offered to marriage family child counselors, licensed clinical social workers and educators.

The workshops are designed to provide quality continuing education and training to licensed counselors, teachers, school psychologists, interns and other mental health professionals.
