(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., June 6, 2000) -- Cal State Northridge's Public Safety officers are continuing their efforts to ease the threat of rape with the Rape Aggression Defense program started earlier this year.

RAD, taught by women for women, will take place from 10 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 10 and 17, in the University Student Union Thousand Oaks Room located on the east side of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St.

The cost is $10 for registered CSUN students, $20 for faculty, staff and non-students, and includes a 66-page manual.

RAD will cover a broad range of subjects, from risk reduction and personal safety tips to techniques women can use if they are attacked, said Lt. John Smither, RAD coordinator.
