The event will take place at the University Student Union building located on the east side of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.
This year's exhibit will feature -- among the hundreds of quilts on display -- a specially designed wall hanging quilt depicting historical elements of deaf education during the past 100 years.
Ila Sachs, a CSUN sign language interpreter, has donated the quilt to the National Center on Deafness (NCOD) at CSUN after winning it at the Convention of American Instructors of the Deaf last summer. The quilt will be framed for NCOD by the quilt association for historical preservation.
Suzie Kirchner, member of SFVQA and former CSUN employee in the Department of Special Education, designed the wall hanging quilt along with her husband, Carl Kirchner, an NCOD staff member. Linda Greenberg, an SFVQA member, put the design on cloth.
For more information, call Carl Kirchner of NCOD at (818) 677-5583 or Suzie Kirchner of SFVQA at (818) 701-1741.
