CSUN VICE PRESIDENT RESIGNS

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., April 7, 2000) - The resignation of William Outhouse, vice president of university relations of California State University, Northridge, has been announced by Louanne Kennedy, interim university president.

Outhouse, who has served in his capacity since March of 1998, has been in charge of the university's development and alumni activities and public relations functions.

The administrator has accepted a position as executive vice president of the Northwest Arkansas Community College Foundation, which serves one of the fastest growing educational institutions in the state. He will be in charge of all private and government funding programs for the foundation.

"I am leaving CSUN with mixed emotions," Outhouse said. "On the one hand, I have enjoyed the opportunity to live in one of the most exciting areas of the country and work at one of the largest, most diverse institutions of higher education in the nation. The rich experiences Išve had here will stay with me forever.

"On the other hand," he said, "I will be returning to Northwest Arkansas where I lived for nearly ten years before coming to Northridge. As executive vice president of the Northwest Arkansas Community College Foundation, I will be responsible for building a development program from the ground up to support the fastest growing community college in the state."

Outhouse, who came to CSUN following 10 years of service with the University of Arkansas, will remain in his Northridge post until the end of June. No successor has been announced.
