A panel of about 15 judges from the Los Angeles County Superior Courts in Van Nuys and San Fernando will answer questions from the audience at the fourth annual "Meet the Judges Forum: Cross-Examine Your Los Angeles County Judges."
The free event, sponsored by CSUN's Department of Political Science, is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Grand Salon of the University Student Union on the east side of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St., Northridge.
Parking is available for $1.75 in campus Lot C on Zelzah Avenue at Plummer Street, which is reached from Zelzah Avenue.
"There is little opportunity for judges and the public to interact outside the formal constraints of the courtroom," said Sylvia Snowiss, CSUN political science professor, who organized the forum. "This gives the public the chance to ask questions and discuss concerns about the operation of the court system."
Members of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association will screen questions for appropriateness, Snowiss said.
For more information, call the political science department at (818) 677-3488 or Snowiss at (818) 677-3476.
Cal State Northridge has about 27,000 full- and part-time students, and offers 48 bachelor's and 39 master's degrees. Founded in 1958, CSUN is the only four-year university in the San Fernando Valley.
