CSUN Students Invite Local Fifth Graders
to Explore the Wonders of Science

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif.) - Cal State Northridge students have invited local fifth graders to explore the worlds of math and science on Monday, Nov. 15, at the university.

"Science Day" will take place on from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University Student Union the east side of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St., Northridge.

The day's activities will include hands-on workshops provided by companies such as NASA and Rocketdyne. The fifth graders will be given the opportunity to try on real space suits, learn about space travel, visit CSUN's own Formula 1 race car and listen to keynote speakers. There will also be campus exhibitions and tours.

Organizers hope to underscore the importance of higher education and the opportunities available in the math and science fields.

The event is hosted by CSUN's Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). For more information, call Ari Soto at (818) 677-2477.
