Instant Admission at CSUN for Future Students

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif.) - If there is anything students dread, it is the daunting process of applying to college, and then the pins-and-needles wait to find out if they got in.

Cal State Northridge is taking some of the pain out of the process with "Instant Admissions Day" on Thursday, Nov. 11, when students can apply and find out if they have a spot at one of the Southland's top universities - all in one day.

Qualified high school and transfer students will be notified on the spot of their eligibility for admission to the university next fall.

Instant admissions will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the University Student Union on the east side of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge. Free parking is available in the parking structure on Zelzah Avenue near Lassen Street. A shuttle will take students to the University Student Union.

To participate, future students must have: a completed California State University application with the fee of $55 (check or money order) or a completed fee waiver request form; high school, college or other university transcripts; test scores from SAT I or ACT, if their high school grade point average is below 3.0; a minimum GPA of 2.0 (2.4 for non-residents); proof of citizenship if necessary.

Community college/university transfer students must have been CSU eligible at high school graduation and have college-level writing and math completed. Upper division transfers must have 56 transferable units completed, including the four basic subject requirements - oral communication, written communication, critical thinking and general education math (quantitative reasoning).

Future students will have a chance to tour the campus and residence halls and speak to financial aid and Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) counselors.

For more information or to make an appointment, call the Office of Student Outreach and Recruitment Services at (818) 677-2967 or visit them at the new Student Services Building on the west side of the campus.
