FOR RELEASE: August 27, 1999
The discussion, the second in a series of roundtables sponsored by BPC, is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Room 348 of Jerome Richfield Hall on the west side of the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.
The roundtables, which are open to the public, are an opportunity for photographers to showcase their work and talk about new and innovative technology in their field.
Talamon, a photographer for 25 years, is the author of two books; Bob Marley: Spirit Dancer, a rare collection of photographs taken throughout the life of the late reggae superstar, and Space Jamminš: Michael Jordan and Bugs Hit the Big Screen, a behind-the-scenes look at Jordanšs first feature film.
Black Photographers of California moved to Cal State Northridge this summer after operating the past 14 years out of a storefront in the Santa Barbara Plaza in the Crenshaw district of Los Angeles. BPC is housed in CSUNšs College of Humanities.
BPC is dedicated to presenting and preserving the work of established and emerging African American photographers and preserving African American history and culture through photography.
Future roundtable guests include northern California photo artists Keba Konte and Los Angeles Times photojournalists Kirk McCoy and Carolyn Cole.
