CSUN Honors Latino Artists with Reception and Exhibit

CSUN Art Galleries will host a reception for three local Latino artists -- Frank Martinez, Lalo Garcia and Ricardo Ortega -- Sept. 10, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in honor of the opening of their exhibition, "Raices - Roots: Tres Generaciones." The public is invited.

The reception will be held at the Performing Arts Center Lobby Gallery at the University Student Union (USU).

The exhibition, which features colorful culturally inspired paintings by the artists, will run from Sept. 10 through Dec. 20 in the USU Lobby Gallery.

The show is co-sponsored by the College of Arts, Media, and Communications; Art Galleries; the Student Resource Center/EOP; the College of Humanities, Chicano Studies Department; College of Social and Behavioral Sciences; and the University Student Union.

Gallery talks by the artists also are scheduled for Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free.
