A grant writing workshop will take place Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Business/Education Auditorium at the corner of Etiwanda Avenue and Plummer Street.
Jacqueline L. Richardson, owner of JLR Associates which specializes in nonprofit fund development, will cover all aspects of the development process, including strategies for evaluating agency needs, funding sources, networking in the nonprofit world, understanding the lingo and developing budgets.
The workshop series is organized by CSUN's Centers in Educational Psychology and Counseling and has been approved by the California Association of Counseling and Development, the California Psychological Association Accrediting Agency and the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
The series is designed to provide quality continuing education and training to licensed counselors, teachers, school psychologist, interns and other mental health professionals.
Future workshops will cover such topics as substance abuse, HIV education, multicultural communication, how to help clients deal with bereavement, and career strategies.
The grant writing workshop fee is $20 for students and $40 for all others.
