CSUN's Pan African Studies Department Offers
Extension Program Tailored to High School Students

High school students of the San Fernando Valley will have an opportunity to further their academic progress with the Community Enrichment Saturday Academy.

The extension program, which is sponsored by CSUN's Pan African Studies Department, will provide junior and senior high school students with extension courses separate and independent of the normal school setting.

The Saturday academy, a two semester, 10-week enrichment session, helps promote the rebuilding of basic principles in Language/English, Arts, Mathematics, and Cultural Diversity.

Session I begins Saturday, September 26 through December 12. Session II will run Saturday, Feb. 6 through May 8, 1999. All classes will be held on the CSUN campus at 18111 Nordhoff St., Northridge. The program is co-sponsored by the DuBois Hamer Institute, Educational Opportunity Program and T.O.Y.S., Inc. Other services provided through the program include:

Elective Credits toward High School Graduation
ACT/SAT Test Preparation
EPT/ELM Workshops
Computer and writing labs
After school tutoring
Academic and Financial Aid Counseling
Summer Bridge
