CSUN Celebrates 40th Anniversary with Weekend Events
Cal State Northridge invites the community to help celebrate its 40th anniversary at a series of events this weekend at the campus at 18111 Nordhoff St., Northridge.
- Friday, Sept. 25, 5-7 p.m. - College Buffet Reception hosted by seven colleges in the Business and Education courtyard on the west side of the campus. Deans and faculty members will discuss how the school's curriculum has changed over 40 years. Free.
- Friday, 5-7 p.m. - A reception hosted by the College of Arts, Media, and Communication in the Music Building Courtyard on the southwest corner of the campus. Free.
- Friday, 7-9 p.m. - A celebration at the Oviatt Library in the center of the campus for the opening of a photo exhibit chronicling the university's development. Free.
- Friday, 8 p.m. - The Nuance Ensemble will perform in the Music Recital Hall courtyard on the southwest corner of the campus. Alumni musicians will perform. General admission $10, seniors $7.
- Saturday, Sept. 26, 11 a.m. - Former CSUN presidents Ralph Prator and James Cleary and current President Blenda J. Wilson will be honored at a Founders Day Brunch in the Grand Salon of the University Student Union on the east side of the campus. Retired faculty and past student leaders will also attend. Admission $15.
- Saturday, 2 p.m. - A tailgate party, followed by the football team's first home game against Eastern Washington at 3 p.m., North Campus Stadium. Cost is $15 per person for the game and tailgate, $10 per person for the game or tailgate only.
- Saturday, 8 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 27, 3 p.m. - The Performing Arts Center will showcase works by local artists. Free.
