Ending Violence Against Women Conference To Be Held At CSUN

The Cal State Northridge Student Health Center is sponsoring the third annual "Ending Violence Against Women Conference," Thursday, March 26.

The one-day event aims to enhance community knowledge on violence prevention through a series of workshops and exhibits.

Thirteen different workshops will be held dealing with topics such as relationship violence; violence against immigrant, garment and agricultural workers; welfare, poverty, and the economics of violence and same sex domestic violence. Speakers range from professionals, advocates and survivors who will address violence against women from a broad sense and from a multi-cultural point of view.

The event will also showcase the Clothesline Project, an international survivor art project that documents personal accounts of violence, a multi-media gallery, poetry readings and other educational exhibits.

The conference is free and will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the University Student Union, located at 18111 Nordhoff St., in Northridge.

For more information, call Jean Morrison at (818) 819-4333.
