Christopher Edley from Harvard Law School and Stanley Fish from Duke University will discuss overcoming challenges within affirmative action and diversity programs, avoiding the "divide and conquer" trap that often emerges along racial and gender lines, and moving from a defensive to an offensive position on affirmative action, diversity and multiculturalism.
The conference will be from 10 a.m. to noon in the Oviatt Library, Room 1, in the center of campus at 18111 Nordhoff St., in Northridge.
The video conference is sponsored by "Black Issues in Higher Education," a national education magazine, and is presented by CSUN's Office of Equity and Diversity.
