The Beijing opera will perform for the first time in the San Fernando Valley, focusing on the legendary story of romance and war between humans and the supernatural. The opera will feature English and Chinese captions, top Beijing opera singers and elaborate costumes.
The perfomance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center, on the east side of campus at 18111 Nordhoff St. in Northridge.
Admission is $50 for honorary seating, $30 for general seating and $10 for students. Tickets can be purchased through CSUN's China Institute at (818) 677-3939.
Proceeds benefit the San Fernando Valley Chinese Cultural Assn. for the construction of the Chinese Heritage Center.
