CSUN To Display Collection Of Political Posters On Sexism And Homophobia

Cal State Northridge will premiere the exhibition of "Sex, Lies and Stereotypes: Posters on Sexism and Homophobia," beginning Wenesday, March 18 through Thursday, May 28.

The exhibit is sponsored by the Center For The Study of Political Graphics in Los Angeles, and combines old and new posters of dramatic and bold visual styles to document the ongoing international struggle of gender-role discrimination, oppression of women and gays, race and ethnic lines.

The posters are collected primarily through donation and include works produced by offset, lithography, linocut, woodblock, silkscreen and photocopy.

The exhibit is located in the Performing Arts Center lobby, located on the east side of campus at 18111 Nordhoff St., in Northridge. The collection is open to the public one hour before each performance.
