CSUN to Host Lectures in Honor of Mission San Fernando Anniversary

Cal State Northridge's History Department will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Mission San Fernando by hosting the "Valley Pioneer Lectures" at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Mission San Fernando.

CSUN History professors Gloria Lothrop and Denise Spooner will introduce lectures by Norman Neuerburg, emeritus professor from Cal State Dominguez Hills, who will talk about "The Indian Via Crucis From San Fernando." Greg Hise, an assistant professor at the University of Southern California, will talk about "Regional City or Urban Region? Planning and Postwar Development in the San Fernando Valley."

The Mission San Fernando is at 15151 San Fernando Mission Blvd., Mission Hills.
